What is it?…

This game is the embodiment of chaos. Often compared with Smash Bros, which is somewhat unfair, it plays differently and has more emphasis on mechanics with a diverse character and weapon sets.

To best describe this game would be to say its a stage based brawler that takes place on small scale maps with the default formats of a 1v1, 2v2 or a free-for-all between 4 players (watch out for those kill stealers looking for quick points)

The Main Game

The main part to Brawlhalla is its 1v1 and 2v2 systems, allowing for casual play as well as ranked (things get real tough in there).

Jumping into a game is easy, you can party up and play with friends or go in solo and play with a random stranger or take on an opponent on your own. The game uses a room system to help players team up and join the chaos together.

The ranking system is a simple ELO setup, play well and win, gain ranking for your account and for the character you use. Its not uncommon to have good and bad characters depending on how well you can get to grips with the myriad of combatants, weapons and their unique signature moves.

Alternative Modes

This game has an absolute metric tonne of other modes to enjoy with friends, randoms or bots.

A notable mode is Brawlball with its interesting take on rugby/american football and get the ball into the enemy goal for a few seconds to score. It sounds easy but can be very tricky depending on how well your opponent plays.

Summary

The game is Free! you get to use rotating heroes and play all the game modes with them. You can earn gold and buy legends as you go or you can buy every legend at once with real money. The only thing you have to spend real money is are cosmetic.

If you get chance, download and play. I have found this to be a marmite sort of game (you either love or hate it). People seem to either fall in love with its simplistic art style and game play or really frustrating getting to grips with the sometimes overwhelming character and weapon range.

Personally, I love it, great to jump in and do a few quick games at a casual pace or to dive into try hard mode to grind my rankings up.
